Ibeno Local Government has fixed the 1st Monday of the month to observe monthly solemn assembly beginning from Monday, 1st March, 2010 at Ulok Ulok Hall, Ubenekang and has made it mandatory for staff of the council to participate.
Similarly, the council has approved a weekly departmental prayer to be held simultaneously by all the departments in their respective offices on every Wednesday of the week beginning fro Wednesday, 3rd March, 2010.

The State Governor Chief Godswill Akpabio has exposed plans by political opponents to contact militants to kidnap, maim and kill prominent citizens of the state (security report).
The Governor who made this known while speaking at a quarterly press briefing at the Government House, Uyo said the intension was to discredit his government. According to him, he has petitioned the Presidency on the matter and urged journalists to fight for the survival of democracy by exposing those behind politically motivated murder and kidnapping.

The Present administration has reiterated its commitment to better the lives of the people of Akwa Ibom State.
This indication was given by the State Governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, at a Civic Reception organized for him at the Council Hall, Ikot Edibon, Headquarters of Nsit Ubium Local Government, where he had gone to inaugurate 21 people-oriented projects, executed through the Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Co-ordinating Committee.

The State Government has inaugurated 13 projects, executed through the Inter-Ministerial District Labour Co-ordinating Committee, in Ikot Ekpene local Government Area.
These include a newly constructed 3 bedroom flat, 2 bedroom detached staff quarters, 3 dormitory blocks for boys, 2 bedroom semi detached staff quarters and the newly renovated Principal’s quarters at State College.
Also commissioned were the main block, perimeter fence/gate house, staff quarters and the new central block at Primary Health Centre, Ikot Udoe.

Akwa Ibom State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with European Union (EU) for the execution of one hundred and thirty projects across the state, under the MPP9 Programme.
The State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpbio stated that the Akwa Ibom State has decided to partner with the European Union (EU) under the micro-projects programme in the nine Niger Delta States (MPP9), because of the high performance recorded in the state during the MPP6 programme implementation from 2004 – 2007.
