Abak Women Throw Weight Behind Governor Akpabio

Abak Market Women Association has vowed to mobilize market women in the area for the re-election of Governor Godswill Akpabio in 2011.
This was contained in a letter of appreciation by the market women to the Commissioner for Information and Social Re-orientation, Mr. Aniekan Umanah in respect of his women empowerment programme.
The women stated that the good governance provided by Governor Akpabio through the provision of infrastructure and people-oriented projects have greatly impacted on them and indeed Akwa Ibom citizenry; thus their resolved to support the Governor for second term in office.
In the letter jointly signed by the association’s President and Secretary, Madam Alice Etim Akpan and Andinyeneama Udotim, respectively, the association thanked the Commissioner, Mr. Aniekan Umanah for the empowerment scheme he embarked on for female traders of Abak origin, across the eleven wards in the Local Government Area.
The market women association described the gesture as an unprecedented show of love and human kindness which has put smiles on the faces of the women who were in dire need of capital to invest in their trading activities and above all, food on the table of many families.
They wish the Information Boss and his family God’s continuous blessings and pledged their unflinching loyalty to the Government.
