AKPABIO COMMISSIONS 15 LIFE TOUCHING PROJECTS AT ETIM EKPO

The State Governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio has described Etim Ekpo Local Government Area as a safe, secure and united place, in view of the team work spirit existing among public office holders as well as the jubilant crowd that turned out en mass to welcome him and his entourage.
Chief Akpabio made this observation during the commissioning of 15 life – touching projects executed by the State Government through the Inter Ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee, in the area.
The projects include electrification, mini water and civic centre /equipment at Ikpe Annang; four Classroom/Office Blocks at Community Technical School, Ikpe Annang, four Classroom/Office at Community Secondary School, Uruk Atta; two rehabilitated Classroom Block at Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Esop and electrification at Ekaobong.
Also inaugurated were perimeter fence at Utu Etim Ekpo District Court; mini water schemes at Iwukem District Court, Ikot Nkim and Uruk and perimeter fence at Magistrate Court Utu Etim Ekpo, among others.
Represented by his commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Samuel Effanga, the Governor, while acknowledging the expressions of gratitude by the people and their leaders, of the area, said his government was committed to the provision of dividends of democracy to the people and bent on ensuring that all communities in the State benefit from projects and used the occasion to urge them to remain steadfast in their support , even beyond 2011.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Finance and Chairman, Inter Ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee, Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan, while expressing deep appreciation to Governor Akpabio for the timely release of funds to his Committee, disclosed that besides the 15 commissioned projects, there were eight others on – going ones.
While soliciting their support for the Akpabio – led administration even beyond 2011, the Commissioner, represented by the committee’s coordinator, Mr. Friday Udoh, called on the communities yet to benefit toforward their requests to the Committee for compilation.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government, Barr. Ikpe Udoka, while applauding the State Government for the many developmental projects executed in his domain, said that his people have been the better for it under the administration and pledged their unflinching support for Governor Akpabio’s second term bid.
In his vote of thanks, the Paramount Ruler, Edidem Ebong Akpan Nkanta, expressed his people’s gratitude to the State Government and reaffirmed their full support.
