Bursary Payment Commences In Nsit Ubium
Students of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area have again been warned against the danger associated with cultism, kidnapping, examination malpractice, political bickering and other violent crimes.
The Executive Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local government, Akparawa Chris Ekpo gave the warning at the gathering of the Students of University of Uyo before the commencement of the payment of 2008/2009Busary allowance to the students.
Surveyor Ekpo who described kidnapping, robbery and killings as a new generational crime dimension, lamented that the act was capable of frustrating the development efforts of government and pleaded with Nsit Ubium students to uphold the dignity of good ambassadorship for the area.
He reminded them that as future leader, they should not be too elitist but accommodate all level of people with humility and respect constituted authority.
Akparawa Ekpo commended Governor Akpabio for being education and youth friendly as exemplified in his government free education policy as well as involvement of youth in the state governance so as to identify and groom talent for future leadership roles.
The Council Boss who use the forum to encapsulate his administration achievements, said that the bursary payment was his administration gesture of ensuring that Nsit Ubium students practically enjoy the impact of dividend of democracy of his administration.
He urged the students to conduct themselves peacefully during the exercise warning that any student caught attempting to cause trouble will be handed over to the law enforcement agents.
The Personal Adviser to the Chairman on students’ affairs, Mr. Anam-emem Ubokudom thanked the Chairman and his team for providing funds for the payment of the bursary, assuring that the students will conduct themselves in an orderly manner throughout the period of payment.
