Commission Presents Annual Report

It was a major breakthrough as the Akwa Ibom State Law Reforms Commission launched its 2009 annual report titled “Re-Awakening The Reformer” with a call on the public to purchase copies in order to avail themselves of the workings of the commission.
Describing the event as simple but special, the Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Cosmas Udoette said the publication of the report, which is one of the Commission’s statutory duties, was the first since its inception about 20 years ago.
Barr. Udoette expressed appreciation to God and the administration of Chief Godswill Akpabio whose support has made the historic event possible.
The Commission Boss explained that the Commission as a research agency of the government needs a voice in print to show-case its activities to the public as well as a reference material to stakeholders in the administrative of customary laws.
In his remarks, one of the four serving Commissioners at the Commission, Otuekong Bonny Nyong who expressed satisfaction at the publication of the Report, attributed the success of the present management of the Commission which was sworn into office in October, 2008, to the cordial working relationship existing between them.
Expressing his joy, Otuekong Nyong purchased 20 copies of the Annual Report in aid of Law students of Akwa Ibom State origin and a copy each for staff of the commission.
Speaking on behalf of District Court president, Engr. Gabriel Obononoidem who is the District Court president of Abak-Midim, lauded the wisdom of the present administration in placing the right people at the helm of the affairs of the Commission which has made possible the success story so far recorded.
