COUNCIL BOSS EMPOWERS 60 INDIGENES

The Chairman, Abak Local Government, Atuekong Aniediabasi Udo has empowered sixty indigenes of the area with sewing machine and hair dressing equipment.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries at the council hall recently, the Chairman said that the items apart from providing sources of livelihood would ensure self reliance.
He said the gesture was his personal effort in collaboration with Asonyah, a non-governmental organization to touch lives and ensure their self sustenance.
While advising the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment, Atuekong Udo urged the people to be steadfast in their support for Governor Godswill Akpabio’s second term bid noting that the present administration was determined to transform the state and make life meaningful to all Akwa Ibomites.
In his remarks, the Director of the NGO, Asonyah, Mr. Uwem Use assured the people that the NGO is committed to ensuring that poverty is reduced to the lowest minimum in the state and expressed the preparedness of his organization to partner with individuals and government to better the lots of the people.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Obonganwan Grace Umanah thanked Atuekong Aniediabasi Udo for his benevolence and prayed God to guide and strengthen him in his effort to impact on his people.
Present during the presentation were, clan Heads, the political class and officials of the council.
