Gov. Akpabio Inaugurates 18 Projects In Oruk Anam
The State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has expressed satisfaction with the provision of democratic dividends embarks upon by his Administration through the length and breath of the state.
Governor Akpabio stated this during the inauguration of 18 projects executed by his government, through the Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Co-ordinating Committee, in Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
The Governor who was represented by his Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Obong Eno Akpan, was received by a mammoth and jubilant crowd, said he felt a sense of fulfillment seeing the people exhibiting so much happiness and noted with delight that it was the second time in less than two months he was in the area commission projects.
While promising to execute more projects for them, especially, in those communities yet to benefit from his developmental projects, the State Chief Executive Officer solicited their total support for his second term bid, and urged them to remain focused and not allow themselves to be deceived.
Commenting also, the Commissioner for Finance and Chairman, Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Co-ordinating Committee, Mr. Bassey Akpan, said that the people of Oruk Anam had every reason to be excited, noting that it was the first time in their history, they were witnessing Government in action.
While soliciting their undivided support for the Governor in his second term bid in 2011, Mr. Akpan assured them of more projects by government through his committee.
Welcoming the Governor to his domain, the Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government, Dr. David Umoessien, described the state as having witnessed an unparalleled socio-economic transformation in all ramifications in the area of the Akpabio-led Administration, said that his people will remain eternally grateful to him for all his largesse for the area and used the occasion to reaffirm their total support come 2011.
