Housing Boss Bags Chieftaincy Title
In recognition of his immense contribution to the transformation of Abia okpo Edem Idim Village, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem has been honoured with a Chieftaincy Title of “Obongunwana” Abia Okpo Edem Idim.
The honour was bestowed on him in the conference hall of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Renewal, Uyo, recently, during a courtesy visit to him by the Village Head and members of the Village Council.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation and the village head of Abia Okpo Edem Idim, Chief Akpan Ekanem Ideh said the conference of the Chieftaincy title on Barr. Enoidem Enoidem was to have taken place on the 17th of April, during his own coronation, but for important state matters which made Barr. Enoidem unavoidably absent hence the honour had to be done to him today.
He said that the award was their way of appreciation for his contributions towards the socioeconomic transformation of their village and his prompt response to the request of the community to be connected to the national grid as well as his excellent supervisory role in making sure that work on the federal prison located in their area was progressing accordingly.
Chief Ideh commended the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for embarking on the numerous people oriented projects and programmes in the state and thanked him for appointing Barr. Enoidem into his cabinet as the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal.
Also speaking, Mr. Daniel Mboho, the secretary of the coronation ceremony paid glowing tributes on Barr, Enoidem describing him as the “messiah” of Abia Okpo Edem Idim village, through which light and empowerment has reached the community.
The village Head, Chief Ekanem Ideh later presented the Commissioner with a shield and a hat, and pledge their unalloyed support to him and wished him well in his aspiration to greater heights at the national level.
Responding, Architect Etuk Sydney W. Emah, the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry who represented the Commissioner, thanked the village head and members of his council for the honour done Barr. Enoidem and urged them to continue to support a good cause as they will be rewarded.
