HOUSING BOSS SEEKS SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR AKPABIO

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem has called on the people of the State to continue to support the aspirations and developmental strides of Chief Godswill Akpabio by endorsing him as Governor come 2011.
Barr. Enoidem made this call during the inauguration of the national Executive Council and formal commissioning of the National Headquarters of the “Support Group for Akpabio”, in Ikot Ekpene.
Pouring accolades on the Governor during the commissioning ceremony, the Commissioner urged the Support Group” to use the office to muster support for the endorsement of the greatest leader of our time, a man who has introduced conscience to governance, and raised the state to greater heights; as well as give respect to the Akwa Ibom man, woman and child.
He assured the people of the present administration’s willingness to make sacrifices to ensure that what belongs to Akwa Ibom in this country gets to Akwa Ibom, come 2011 and solicit for their complete loyalty.
Barr. Enoidem advised the group to work assiduously with the PDP, which he described as the foremost political machine in the black african world, to ensure that Chief Akpabio is returned.
He used the forum to announce the launching of “Operation one Million Signatures” stating that the “Support Group” will play a dominant role in collecting the signatures endorsing Chief Akpabio for a second term.
Housing Boss presented a brand new Coaster Bus to the Group to assist them in the execution of their duties, and also unveiled a plague for the office, which is located at 39 Atan Road, Ikot Ekpene and congratulated the new executives and wished them a successful tenure.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion and PDP Chapter Chairman, Ikot Ekpene, Chief Sunny Ibanga, represented by Engr. Ezekiel Essien thanked the Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for the socio-economic transformation of the state through the provision of basic infrastructural facilities.
He outlined them to include the massive construction and rehabilitation of roads, construction of the e-library, state of the art Governor’s Lodge, building of the maximum prison at Ikot Ekpene, the free and compulsory education programme in both Primary and Secondary levels, the free medical treatment for children, pregnant women and the elderly, among others.
Engr. Essien also congratulated Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem for his good works as Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal.
In his acceptance speech, the National President of the group, Hon. Jerry Umoette, expressed thanks for the opportunity given to them to serve the nation, stating that their task of canvassing, mobilizing and letting the people appreciate the unmatched good works of a generational achiever, Chief Godswill Akpabio will be carried out diligently and meritoriously.
He pledged the Group’s unalloyed support and loyalty to the Governor and to their Grand Patron, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem.
