Ibiono Ibom Comes Alive For Gov. Akpabio

Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area has again, in less than two months, come alive for Governor Godswill Akpabio as the people took delivery of additional 15 life-changing and people-oriented projects executed through the Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Co-ordinating Committee.
The people, who were splendidly adorned in various uniforms, trooped out in their thousands, rolling out drums to receive and welcome the one who, according to them, has brought Ibiono Ibom into the scheme of things and given them a sense of belonging.
The inaugurated projects were; newly constructed staff quarters at Primary Health Centre, rehabilitated and constructed classroom blocks at Primary School, Ikot Idaha; civic centre, Okoita; perimeter fence at Iyere District Court and mini water at Ono; perimeter fence at Nsaso District Court and mini water at Southern Ibiono District Court.
Also commissioned were: rehabilitated hall/office and newly constructed three classroom blocks at Primary School, Ikot Antia Ididep; solar powered mini water at Mbiabam Ididep; rehabilitated assembly hall at Government School, Ikot Eshiet; reconstructed three classroom blocks at PCN School, and mini water at Ikpanya.
Speaking at each of the project sites and venue of the civic reception organized in his honour, the State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, stated that the Rule of Law was one of the ingredients of democracy and was, therefore, not surprising that his administration was bent on ensuring that adequate facilities were put in place towards the realization of a fair judicious system for his people.
The Governor, who was represented by his Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning, Dr. Bassey Antai, expressed happiness at the warm reception accorded him, assuring the people of his determination in the development of every facet of the State’s economy and ensuring that she becomes a destination.
Governor Akpabio, however, said that for this to become a reality, he needed more than one term and, therefore, solicited the people’s support for his second term bid, even as he promised them more developmental projects.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Obong Godwin Ekpo, expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for the laudable projects executed in his domain.
He recalled with delight that besides the 15 commissioned ones, 13 others were also inaugurated on the 4th of May, thereby, bringing to 28, the total number of projects commissioned in year 2010 alone and used the occasion to reiterate his people’s total support for the Governor’s second term bid.
