MBOHO VOWS TO GIVE CHIEF AKPABIO A SECOND TERM
The Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio has vowed to join forces with lovers of development to ensure that their earlier mandate to Chief Akpabio for 2011 plus is actualized.
Dropping the hint, during a courtesy call on the Commissioner for Information and Social Re-orientation, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, the President of the Mboho, Akparawa Sylvester Akpan added that the mandate is not negotiable.
According to the leader of the socio-cultural group, “Our dear Governor is ‘Atang-anam Akparawa’ and that is why Mboho supports him and is calling on every stakeholder in the state project to extend same support for a full tenure of eight years to enable him complete the laudable programmes and actualize his vision for the state”, he further stated.
The tremendous support you are giving to our Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio has proved that indeed, he is God’s gift to Akwa Ibom State judging from his administration’s people-oriented projects and programmes”, Akpan said.
“Our visit today is to exchange pleasantries with the Hon. Commissioner Mr. Aniekan Umanah and to commend his team for effective coverage of government activities and programmes.
He also acquainted Commissioner Umanah with Mboho’s ongoing projects which include the scholarship for students of Akwa Ibom State, Ibibio language quiz and essay writing competition, unity football cup competition, Obong Sampson Udo Etuk lecture and Excellence Awards and the Micro Credit Scheme among others.
“We solicit your support as nothing will be too small to enable Mboho sustain these programmes”, he replied.
Responding, Commissioner Umanah encouraged Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio to continue with its visionary role of leadership and total support for the Executive Governor of the State, Chief Godswill Akpabio and his administration’s projects. In his words, we urge you to remain focused, do not relent because with such spirit, success is around the corner”.
He said, “Governor Akpabio administration has done its best to ensure that Akwa Ibom State gets to the peak of development. The construction and completion of roads, the Akwa Ibom International Airport (AKIA), flyover, free and compulsory education, which is the most valuable projects for the Governor, the agricultural programmes for employment opportunities, to mention a few, cannot be over emphasized”.
We therefore look forward to a destination state despite some inevitable hitches that may occur as we pray the Good Lord to continue guiding our Governor to achieve his goal for the benefit of our dear state and people” he said.
“It is very joyous to know that we can now fly to various destinations through the Airport, indeed Godswill has been done in Akwa Ibom State” Commissioner Umanah expressed, adding that his Ministry will support the projects embarked upon by the group.
