Obot Akara Beefs Up Revenue Committee

As part of efforts to boost its revenue base, Obot Akara Local Government has re-constituted its Revenue Committee to improve internal revenue base of the council especially from various market locations.
Members of the Revenue Committee and their assigned market are as follows: - Editaha Udoebok Market is headed by Michael Umoh, Offiongetor Udo Market is chaired by Prince Sylvester Usua; Daily market – Nto Edino has Mr. Friday Okwok as Chairman.
Obo Market – Ubon Akwa, is headed by Joseph George Udoaka; Editaha Market – Otoro, has Mr. Akpan Akpan Uyo as Chairman, Ekpa Market – Ubon Akwa, has Mr. Sunday Akpan Afia as Chairman while Obo Akpanenyie Market is headed by Mr. Friday Frank Ukpong.

Inaugurating the Committee, the Chairman of the Council, Barr. Shilling Paul said, the exercise became necessary to augment government efforts to meet the yearnings of the people and provide modern facilities in the markets.
The Council helmsmen, charged the committee to take its assignment seriously to help the council realize its expected revenue and called on them to exhibit the spirit of accountability as there would be routine audit.
He called on the public to give the committee the much needed cooperation to enable it to serve them well.
Speaking separately, the Chairman of various Market Committees, Obong Isidore Akpan, Chief Michael Akpan Umoh, Chief Bassey Utuongo and Prince Sylvester Usua expressed appreciation for appointing them to serve and promised to justify their appointments.
